The Gun Lake Snowmobile Club was available for lease and monthly worship services began on
Seventeen acres of property then became available to GLCC and during September 1988, 150 people attended a joyful, outdoor worship service held on the newly purchased property. A groundbreaking service was held one cold, snowy morning in February 1989, as the new multi-purpose worship center began to take form.
Two expansion projects have taken place since 1989 and in the summer of 2000 a third building phase was completed.
The years since 1998 have been a time of focus for GLCC. The church has been going through a process of discovering what God's purpose is for the church and joining Him in His work here. We sense that God is calling the church to be a mission outpost in this area, seeking to meet those who don't have a relationship with Christ and helping them accept Christ as their Lord and Savior, and grow in this relationship. Transitioning to this purpose revitalized the church and brought with it growth in a number of different areas. More people started using their gifts for ministry, new people came to church and accepted Christ as their Lord, more children started attending our Children's Ministries, and our weekly worship attendance increased.
In order to better minister to our growing numbers as well as increase our witness to the surrounding community, GLCC transitioned to a new administrative structure in the summer of 2002. Once again, this transition brought excitement to the church as it continues to meet people where they are at and invite them to become devoted followers of Christ.

To help reach the community, our church took a close look at the people to find out what makes them tick. We learned their needs, their likes, dislikes, and generally everything we could about the people in the area. We also learned that the area is a relatively young community that is unchurched.
A vision continues to be cast to the congregation to be a church for those who desire to learn more about how they can follow God through a relationship with Jesus. One of the ways the church accomplishes this is through our multiple weekly worship services.
In the 
Sermons are focused on issues that are relevant to the community. We might preach a sermon about marriage, and on another Sunday we might talk about stress. Though most of the community is unchurched, the Leadership Team at GLCC believes the community is open to spiritual issues and is searching for something to fill their lives with. We invest our lives in people who do not know Jesus and invite them to worship.
GLCC uses their style to reach out to anyone with a sixteen to twenty-mile radius. Inside that radius are 17,000 people who do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ. The questions is often asked, “Seventeen thousand people; what’s up with that?” Intentionally reaching the 17,000 people requires sacrifice and in the spring of 2005 the church sent away ten percent of its members to help launch another church. Though the church will lose some of its strongest members, following God requires faith, and GLCC is looking forward to seeing God do great things through this opportunity.
In April of 2006, GLCC launched Celebrate Recovery, a worship based recovery ministry that proclaims the healing power of Jesus over life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups.
The reason we are here is to build a bridge with the community - meeting people right where they are at and inviting them to become devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
