Get Involved at the Big House!

We are excited that you want to check out the Big House at GLCC. This section will help to introduce you to the many opportunities available within our ministry. We are a "gift-based, passion-driven" ministry and we want to help you find where you can use your God-given gifts to invest in the lives of children and families. Your first step to getting involved will be to pray and see where God is leading you to serve.
If you know what area you would like to serve in, or need some help learning what your gifts and talents are please contact Vicki Hooker, our Children's Ministry Director, at the church office, 269.795.7903 to set up a time to talk to or you can email him at vicki@gunlakechurch.org.
Next, let us ease your mind about a few things:
You can serve in the areas where God gifted you.
There are tons of opportunties for you to serve in ways that will let you use your unique gifts and talents.
- Teachers: all supplies are ther for you to teach a lesson. You enjoy teaching with only the prep of learning the lesson. Your time will be used for blessing the kids that will be in your class.
- Helpers: come and assist the teacher and be a blessing to the kids.
- Prize Cart Attendant: Assist kids in their "purchases" by using their tickets. This is a fun area to work in.
- Special Events Team: this team has many areas such as Easterfest, Vacation Bible School and Fall Festival. This team works on our large community events and incorporate fun with outreach.
- Outreach Team: this team works with kids to do service projects in the church and community. This team will be a team that will help the kids learn their God given gifts.
- Music Leader/Assistant: this involves getting the kids excited for worship. Help the kids learn about worship and praise God.

You don´t have to be an expert.
Each member of our Big House team have two things in common: a passion for children and a passion for Jesus. If you have a heart that loves God and a desire to work with kids, then you have the two basic ingredients necessary to become a leader in the Big House. You don't need a degree in early childhood development or elementary education to be a great leader in the Big House. We'll equip and train you for your ministry.
You don't need all the time in the world.
You can successfully minister to children with a minimal time commitment. We have tons of ways that you can minister to kids in a time frame that will work for you! During the weekend services, in just an hour and a half each week, you will be able to form relationships with kids and their parents that will communicate love and value, not only from you, but also from God.
You will not be alone.
You will be supported in your ministry through the Big House staff and leadership team. As a teacher you will be provided with all of the curriculum and supplies you need to put on a great class week after week. You will not be a lone ranger in your ministry to children...guaranteed!
We look forward to getting to know you and to helping you find where God has shaped you to be. It will be exciting to watch God at work in you and through you as you minister to the children of Gun Lake Community Church.
