What should I expect when I visit?

We realize that coming into any new situation can be intimidating and, unfortunately, church is no exception.  Fear of the unknown can be the hardest thing to overcome so, below we've asked and answered some of the most common questions someone might have as they come to a new church:

How do I get there?

Gun Lake Community Church is in the Yankee Springs area of Wayland on M-179 just east of Patterson Road.  Click here to get directions to the church.

What should I wear?

This is always a biggie because churches can be so different.  Our philosophy is wear what you're comfortable in.  We’re more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear. So, dress casually and you’ll fit in.

What's available for my kids?

GLCC has great programs for kids from nursery through Sr. High.

Children's programming is available on Sunday mornings for kids from nursery-4th grade during both services in our Big House children's ministry.

There are also Bible studies for 5th & 6th graders during our 11 a.m. service.

Plus, Jr. High youth (6th-8th grade) meet on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. and Sr. Highers meet Sundays at 7 p.m.

What kind of church is GLCC?

Gun Lake Community Church adheres to a unique philosophy of ministry. Our weekend services present the timeless truths of Christianity in a way that impacts people in their lives today. No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you can grow in your understanding of Christianity at these services. An extensive network of small groups that meet in homes throughout the community also foster relationships and spiritual growth.

Will I have to say anything or be singled out in any way?

At Gun Lake Community Church, you'll never be put on the spot, never singled out, and never embarrassed. Our hope is that you'll let the service be our gift to you and that you'll know we're here for you!

What should I expect in church?

Services are about one hour long, friendly and casual, with a mixture of music, drama, video and teaching.  The average age of our members is 32 and our music is contemporary, upbeat and glorifying to God.

If it’s been a long time since you’ve been to church, Gun Lake Community Church is a great church to come back to!  We are committed to meeting you right where you are at, and when you're ready, to invite you to become a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.

Now, take a deep breath!

We know it can be nerve wracking trying out a church for the first time. We hope that getting some of this “stuff” out of the way not only encourages you to join us for church, but also helps you to connect with the hope and encouragement that God has for you.
